Quote of the Day:

“There are three types of people in this world. Firstly, there are people who make things happen. Then there are people who watch things happen. Lastly, there are people who ask, what happened? Which do you want to be?” – Steve Backley

About Honoree

Honoree’s background on self-publishing

She was at a conference where Mark Victor Hansen (Chicken Soup for the Soul) was speaking. He told her she needed a book, something based on a speech she has given that people loved. So she wrote “Master Strategies for Explosive Business Growth” which Jeffrey Gitomer commented on as “great but your title and cover suck.”

She republished her book with a new title and cover as “Tall Order!: Organize Your Life and Double Your Success in Half the Time.”

On authors who want to write but don’t want to publish books

If writing a book is too intimidating, drill it down to the number of words per day. Embracing the title “Author” or “Writer” is also one of the issues Honoree helps her clients with.

Everyone goes through the process of figuring out what area your greatness is and owning it.

On helping authors see themselves as “Authors”

Connect what they have to say and write to their area of greatness. Most people have trouble believing that they do have something to write about.

It’s okay to make a living for your art and learn how to do it and learn how to create different streams of income.

The Wheel of Fortune for Authors

Repurpose your content to come up with different streams of income

Turn your book into a:

  • Course
  • Workbook
  • Keynote presentation
  • Workshop
  • Certification training
  • T-shirts, coffee mugs, other merchandise
  • Coaching
  • Consulting

Why do you need a coach?

If you have the right coach, that coach knows what questions to ask and answers to give and the difference in the timing. A coach helps save you time because you don’t need to figure out things on your own.

A coach leads you to the right direction:

what things you should know and learn

people you should hire and recommend people you can hire

what things you can delegate and to whom

what things you shouldn’t be doing

Coaching for those starting from scratch

Hiring a coach is a good investment if you find someone that fits your budget for coaching.

For authors who want to build a business, having a coach will supercharge efforts, especially in terms of accountability and deadlines to keep up with a lot of moving parts for publishing a book.

On the ideal coaching client

Someone who is at the top of their game and recognize what having a book will bring to their business.

Some who understands that having a coach is an investment and getting a book done right is an investment.

Someone who will listen to someone who knows what they’re doing.
